Yogasana-Padmasana (Lotus Posture)

Meaning 
Padma- Lotus, Asana-Posure  -The final position of this Asana seems to be like a Lotus 



How to Practice  Padmasana 

Step 1
Slowly bring the right leg and place it one the left thigh.The heel of the right foot should as much as possible touch the groin 

Step 2
Slowly bring the  left leg and place it one the right thigh.The heel of the left  foot should as much as possible touch the groin 

Step 3
Straight Your Backbone .Close Your Eyes.Keep the Hands Straight and rest them on your Knees.

Step 4
Observe Your Breath. 10 minutes ( In this step you can do  your Spiritual Sadanas 1.Pranayam,2.Mantra Chanting,3.Meditation,4.Prardhana,5. Swadyayam,6. Satsanga)

Step 5 
Ananda Dyanam

Step 6
Slowly Release Your Legs and Relax

Befits

Maintains balanced flow of energy throughout the body. Very useful in the practice of Antaranga yoga as one can sit comfortably for a long stretch of time maintaining the awareness.

It develops  the Physical and Mental stability.It relieves stiffness of Joints and Padmasana keeps a person Young.

Therapeutically 

 It relieves Constipation,in digestion,It is useful in curing the flatulence.It is very good for curing knee ailments.

Limitation

Severe Arthritis patients should do carefully
